Symptoms of Tyrosinemia [TYPE 1]

It's Friday! *happy dance*
That means we all (or most of us) get to sleep in tomorrow! Well, since it's such a happy day, we are going to keep this post short and sweet, yet informative alright?

Symptoms for tyrosinemia type 1 usually appears in the first few months of life. They include:
  • Poor weight gain and inability to grow at an expected rate
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Jaundice (yellowing of skin and the whites of eye)
  • Tendency to bleed (e.g. bloody stools and nosebleeds)
  • Cabbage-like odour to the skin or urine
  • Enlarged liver
  • Swelling of legs and abdomen
  • Slow development in walking
Symptoms are warnings to us from our body to inform us there is something fishy going on! Hence it is important for us to know what are the symptoms for any diseases or disorders we are learning about. Don't forget what you have learnt from this post okay!
